Description
Possible illustration for Savage Insider magazine. The art director wanted a Daddy Warbucks type that was craggy looking.
The challenge for me here was to give his face a lot of character without making him look ancient. Since this issue is about surprises and things that aren't always what they seem, I wanted to give him a nice smile in contrast to his weathered face. It would have been easy to make him a gangster - this way, it's an unexpected but pleasant surprise.
