First off - let me say Happy New Year to ya!  2011 is going to be amazing to be sure!

Well this past month was super busy, which is a great thing.  I finished a book cover for a dear friend of mine & a commission for Kobold Quarterly.  I'm hopeful that both things turn into something big for all involved.  

I hope you guys are all doing well!  I just bought a little MP3 player so that I can finally listen to music of my choosing in my car instead of having to listen to the stoopid radio. (They never play anything good.)  I've also decided to start working out, eating right & taking care of myself again.  This started by getting a big ass king-sized bed that's one of those pillow top, posteurpedic things that won't kill my back every time I go to bed.  Yay!    This makes me happy & junk.

Ok - party on my fellow artists.  I'm hoping that I can get to my comments & look at everyone's wonderful art over the next couple of weeks.  Woo Hoo!  In the meantime I'll start working on the new logo for a groovy chainmail company & of course, looking for more work.  A never ending battle to be sure.  Ciao.  

So here's what's been happening...

Heya!  I had a couple of weeks where I needed to recharge a bit.  I was in between gigs so I decided that it would be a perfect time to try to improve my style.  I'd been talking with people non-stop over the last month about vexeling techniques, coloring, shading, etc.  I even seriously contemplated learning Corel Painter...

In the end though, I decided that I enjoyed my style using CorelDraw.  Sure I wanted to be better at shading, but overall I still very much liked the look of my finished pieces.  I'm also pretty happy that my stuff doesn't look like anyone else's. Sure a lot of vector & vexel artists use the same tools, (either CorelDraw or Illustrator) but the end result is pretty uniquely my own & I'm pretty cool with that.

That being said - I hope you guys enjoy my newest Steampunk Sally piece!!  I'm pretty proud of it.  Thank you guys for supporting me, giving me awesome advice on how to improve my shading & filling my comment boxes with dA love!

On another note - I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Carissa Starr (With 2 R's - lol)kahl for actually making the belt that I drew in my piece "Antigo" rookemare.deviantart.com/art/A… turned out FANTASTIC!!!  I've never had anyone do that before & it felt like I was holding a piece of my art.  lol.  It was a very cool experience. Thank you SO much!!

So here's what's been happening...

Over the past month I've been receiving such awesome support from all the artists here on dA.  BIG thanks to kahl Achen089 millenear dkl78594 Valedhelven shebid & anticia  You guys have been so wonderful to me over the past month - I really really appreciate it!  You've all inspired to me to continue to improve my artistic style (Especially my shading) & as such you are making me a better artist.  Everyone here on DA has been SO kind, supportive & just wonderful people.  I'm definitely feelin' the love, guys - so thank you.  

In other news - my girlfriend's grandmother is doing poorly health-wise.    So I'd like to ask everyone here to please keep kind, warm & loving thoughts for her and her family as they go through this really hard time.  Thank you very much - you guys rock!
